Week 4: Implementing technology in the classroom

Technology is an amazing thing when used in the classroom properly, we can incorporate it when we are trying to teach interesting subjects like history, literature or anything but I am afraid not all schools will have enough equipment to accommodate everyone in the classroom. I think using technology to teach is another great way of keeping the students attention especially to those that are visually learners.

Digital Storytelling

Our group decided to use a poem by Shel Silverstein because we it relates to children and also it talks about a little girl who doesn't want to take the garbage out. We used color clay to make the characters instead of pictures and this is a great example of using technology in our teaching.

TPACK is the combination of three different parts namely pedagogical knowledge, technology knowledge and content knowledge. We use the technology to be able to teach students certain content in the classroom.

Week 2

This week was very difficult for me because of the stuff I had to learned in my Ipt class. I felt very ignorant in computer technology so I decided to meet with Ms. Burgoyne and she was very helpful. I learned how to make a poster and how to do my calendar. I am so thankful for that.

My experience with technology is not great. I just know how to use e-mail and cell phones. I am learning a lot thanks to this class.
